Some thoughts about the New Year from Deb del Villar.

What do you think?

Just a couple thoughts hit me as i contemplate this New Year – and decade!

As you think back over this past year, may I ask you to contemplate your answer to this telling question – “What think ye of Christ?” (Matthew 22:42) Your answer to this crucial question speaks volumes.

What do you think of Christ? Is He the focus, the center, of your life? What you do, say, and feel stem from what you think of Christ. Are you closer this year to having the mind of Christ rule you than in 2019?

May I encourage you that instead of making New Year’s resolutions -why not make an everyday resolve to ask and answer the question – What did I think of Christ today? What did my words say about Christ to others? Did they uplift and empathize with godly advice? What did my actions show? Did I live out my faith no matter what? What did my thoughts speak? Christ’s words of truth or lies from the author of lies?

Each day we have an opportunity to speak, show, and share what we think of Christ! In 2020, let’s develop a clearer vision of Christ so others will hear, see, and know who He truly is. As you think on Him more, get to know Him better, love Him deeper, and serve Him more passionately may others vision of Christ be sharpened. Your example, whether it is the young people in your church, your own children, or whoever may be watching; may it lead them to think on Christ and decide who He is to them.

What think ye of Christ?

Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
