Facebook has recently been a digital photo album of kids heading off to school. Some kids are smiling, others don’t look so happy. All look clean and stylish with every hair in place … at least that’s the way they look BEFORE heading out.
In front of all the smiling kids is nine months of learning, or at least that’s what we pray they get out of all those hours sitting behind a desk.
Did you know the Bible also talks about learning? Here are 11 back-to-school verses to share with your kids. I’ve posted these before, but they’re always valuable to review.
Psalm 25:5 — Lead me in your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation;
for You I wait all the day long.
Psalm 32:8 — I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
Psalm 119:7 — I will praise You with an upright heart, when I learn Your righteous rules.
Psalm 119:73 — Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn Your commandments.
Proverbs 1:5 — Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.
Proverbs 8:5 — O simple ones, learn prudence; O fools, learn sense.
Proverbs 9:9 — Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
Isaiah 1:17 — Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.
Philippians 4:11 — Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. (A good verse for kids to learn when they’re whining or complaining.)
2 Timothy 3:14 — But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it.
Titus 1:9 — He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
