Kids (and all of us) have a great curiosity about heaven.
Here are seven facts we can teach out kids. (And an additional fact – the above picture really has nothing to do with heaven.)
*Our Father is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 — In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 6:9 — Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.
*The Lord Jesus Christ is in heaven
Hebrews 9:24 — For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.
1 Peter 3:22b-22 — through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to Him.
*Our names are written in heaven
Luke 10:20 — Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
*Our inheritance is in heaven.
1 Peter 1:3-5 — Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
*Our citizenship is in heaven.
Philippians 3:20-21 — But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like His glorious body, by the power that enables Him even to subject all things to Himself.
*Our hope is in heaven.
Colossians 1:3-6 — We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth.
Our home is in heaven.
2 Corinthians 5:6-9 — So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.
