For many people, this time of year is their least favorite. They are tired of the cloudy dreariness. The snow that looked serenely beautiful at Christmas, now just produces sighs – because once again, we get out the shovels. (Yes, I know some of you live in sun shiny places with balmy, warm weather, but I’m guessing even you feel kind of weary at times.)
But no matter how muddy and yucky our outside world, we don’t have to have “muddy and yucky” attitudes. Yes, kids are getting restless as they head toward the end of the school year. Yes, registration for summer sports’ teams are making you anxious for the outdoors. Yes, we’re sliding into the end of winter … but spring still seems a long way off.
Wait a minute! We aren’t to lose heart, but to be renewed day by day (as Paul writes in 2 Corinthians).
Here are 10 verses to remind us, that as Christians, we can be refreshed whether that’s working with our own kids, teaching kids in ministry … or refreshing our own wilted attitudes.
